Vietnamese fast casual eatery Lucy’s is set to open on Grand Street.

This would be the fourth location of the Bushwick restaurant which has received high praise for its pho and bánh mì.

Lucy’s is known for its 14-hour brisket, which perhaps is not a coincidence since founder, Phuoc “Johnny” Huynh started off selling Texas-style brisket at Smorgasburg alongside Dennis Ngo.

Huynh grew up in Bushwick, and started off hustling sneakers. Eventually he answered a job ad for a Lower East Side restaurant, An Choi, where he met head chef Dennis Ngo.

The original location was small with just a single communal table, but since has expanded to include other locations of the restaurant located in Bed-Stuy at 1111 Bedford Ave and in downtown Williamsburg at 112 Berry Street.

The new location at 649 Grand Street had been home to Mercadito by Eleva & Porteñas, which closed some time ago.

The new restaurant will be just one block from Mama Pho, long-time staple of the neighborhood offering a similar menu and 24-hour service.
