Flat Out Burger on Graham Avenue

Burger chainlette Flat Out Burger has opened a Graham Avenue location.

The petite Bed-Stuy-based restaurant first opened in 2025 and quickly expanded to the Lower East Side and Connecticut.

The restaurant serves up a basic smash burger: a stack of burger, cheese, onion, pickles, and secret sauce sits on a brioche bun.

The chain ranked 15th earlier this year in The Infatuation’s Smash Burger rankings. Their review describes a sweet burger, brought on by sugary pickles.

The menu at Flat out Burger

There are no thrills here with a straight forward menu: burgers and fries.

The doors are open, but there’s still work to be done. The soda fridge was empty this afternoon, and the store was out of paper menus. For now there are some tables on the sidewalk, and a door inside connecting to Gramma’s Tavern. Have a beer and a burger, have a burger and a beer.

Gramma's tavern

Gramma’s Tavern took over the corner location that had once been the main room of Graham Bar. It opened over the summer, joining the matriarchy of Graham Avenue bars.

We first heard rumors that the new bar was subdividing the space for the burger chain back in March. The room had a secondary space used for karaoke and dance parties during the era of the Graham Bar. But Graham Bar closed rather suddenly back in September of 2025. Employees had been locked out and their personal items remained inside after the landlord took possession of the building.

For now the burger joint will open “around noon,” but those hours might be cut back come winter.
