A new branch of TD Bank has opened.

Located at 20 Graham Avenue, the new branch joins Chase, Popular, and Bank of America in the business district surrounded largely by low income housing, Woodhull Hospital and the elevated JMZ.

East Williamsburg is actually something of a banking desert and Chase Bank recently closed a branch on Grand Street and Buswick Avenue. That historic bank building is slated to be redeveloped into apartments.

The lower end of Graham Avenue is seeing quite a bit of turnover among the storefronts. New residential development just north and around Montrose Avenue is bringing in higher income residents to the area. Many of the former empty lots are set for new construction as well.

To the west, Broadway Triangle is seeing major new construction projects as well and its likely this business district will be seeing more bank branches opening before long.

Previously the only TD Bank in North Brooklyn had been a branch in Greenpoint.

The bank’s commitment to Grinch Green is evident as it installed superficial color strips on the brick facade of the building above the entrance. The company refers to the color as “American Green.”

The new branch is at the southern tip of Graham Avenue.
