Khim’s Millennium Market on Bushwick Avenue at Johnson Avenue has finally closed.
The organic grocery at 260 Bushwick Avenue had seen better days. Although the market maintained the high quality organic products, the shelves often didn’t have a large selection.
The store had operated 24 hours, 7 days a week before the pandemic, like a bodega. After the pandemic, it cut its hours.
Meanwhile, other grocery options opened in the neighborhood. Beyond Natural Market opened at 195 Montrose Avenue providing a larger selection and fresher vegetables. Several new bodegas opened closer to the Montrose L train station. By the time it closed, Khim’s was not the cheapest, not the best, and not open latest.
