Bushwick Country Club Reopens

Perpetually misnamed dive bar Bushwick Country Club has reopened a few doors down from its original location.
The bar officially reopened last month although the new website is yet to be updated.
The country club shuttered unexpectedly in March of 2022 after 17 years of serving of alcoholic slushies and cheap beer cans. The belated celebration of the anniversary was this past weekend at the new bar.
The not-so-exclusive country club maintained (poorly) a golf course in the backyard and was part of the aughts trend of new but make it look old dive bars like Welcome to the Johnsons. The curated aesthetic was decidedly your grandad’s bar, from off season Christmas decorations to well used bathrooms — the crappy toilets even made it into Dive Art, a short film about graffiti covered bathrooms.
The new spot is at 608 Grand Street, next door to decided unironic trash pizza joint Papa Johns.
Here’s one for the disappearing New York crowd: the location was previously the medical office of Almonte Diogenes, M.D.
