Peri-Peri is a Portuguese hot pepper cultivar grown in areas the European nation once controlled in Africa.

Spice is the name of the game at Frangos Peri Peri. The menu warns that the Extra Hot is for the brave.

The menu includes items like kebabs and a chicken wing roulette where only some of the wings are spiced with the extra hot sauce.

The Infatuation describes the East Village location as a “Portuguese halal chicken spot” with an emphasis on spice.

It’s a casual eatery, serving up a mix of chicken on the bone, tenders, wings, sandwiches, and a few other other meats, but largely featuring the peri-peri sauce. Vegan guests have a limited selection as well.
