Levantine Bistro Replacing Edith’s

By on Friday, September 8th, 2023 at 10:54 am

Edith's closed in May and is being replaced by Levantine eatery Huda

Huda, A new Levantine bistro is coming to Leonard Street.

A liquor license application has been filed and an Instagram account promises its coming in the fall of 2023.

Levantine-style cuisine is all the rage lately in Brooklyn dining. Hummus Market recently rebranded to Levantine, and numerous restaurants serving food inspired by the Levant region have been buzzing, from the high end like Laser Wolf, to more casual restaurants.

Huda is coming to the space that Edith’s operated out of for about a year, closing this past May. The owners told Eater they are more interested in growing the brand rather than operating a restaurant.

Before Edith’s, DeStefano’s Steakhouse had operated at the location before moving to the former Brooklyn Star location (but not the original location, which burned in a fire; that spot became Best Pizza, which has a second location on Grand Street).
